A beautiful addition to the garden for winter colour. This plant gets its name for the way that the bare stems in winter turn from vivid orange to yellow at the tips lighting up the garden. It grows to 3m high by 2.5m wide. It has green leaves throughout the growing season and white flowers in spring that are followed by blue black berries in autumn. Will grow well in full sun with sufficient moisture or with some shade for drier areas. This plant prefers consistent moisture so mulch with organic matter and mix in compost to the planting hole for soils lacking organic matter. Very hardy to frost, down to -20c.
