Olearia macrodonta is a hybrid of O.avicenniaefolia and O. illifolia exhibiting the best attributes of both species. With large green serrated holly like leaves with a light felted underside. White daisy flowers are borne in large clusters from late summer into early autumn. The flowers support a range of native insects. Grows to a large shrub 6m high by 5m wide. Plant in full sun to part shade in an area sheltered from the strongest winds. Likes a fertile well drained soil, will benefit from the addition of organic matter in poor soils. Drought tolerant once established. Hardy to -10c.
