Olearia paniculata is an endemic shrub found in the North and south islands down to Canterbury. This shrub grows around 4m high and 3m wide. It is often used as a hedge. It's olive green leaves are wavy and stiff giving this plant great texture. It has clusters of small white flowers in autumn which are pleasantly scented. Olearia paniculata is very hardy to wind and dry conitions prefering exposed sunny sites. It will not tolerate wet, waterlogged ground. Hardy to around minus 5 celsius.
