Coprosma cheesemanii is a low growing evergreen shrub that grows locally and throughout New Zealand. It grows to approximately 50cm tall and 1m to 1.5m wide. Leaves are small and olive green. Fruit is orange red and produced in autumn. Multiple plants are need to produce fruits as plants are either male or female. Frequently found in montane areas in tussock grassland and area that remain damp. Very frost hardy.
