An attractive native evergreen tree of lowland forest. When young growth is rapid and leaves are small up until 2m high in which the tree will change to mature leaves that are narrow and toothed. Eventually growing to 10m+ by 5m wide in 15 - 20 years. White clusters of flowers smother the tree in summer which are highly attractive to bees and nectar feeding birds. Best grown with some shelter from high winds and moist but well drained soil. Hardy to frost and drought once established.
