Escallonia 'Red Elf' can be used for a low - medium hedge. The small evergreen leaves can be clipped throughout the season to create a formal green hedge. To preserve bright red flowers that appear in summer prune after flowering finishes in early autumn. Plant in full sun - part shade in moist but well drained soil. Hardy to -10c.
