Popular evergreen shrub used for cooking. Rubbing the leaves gives a strong rosemary scent. Grows to a 2m sphere. Needs full sun and a well drained soil. Will not tolerate waterlogged soil especially in winter. Frost hardy but will grow best in warm sheltered climates. Blue flowers favoured by bees bourne from spring often repeating throughout the year. (Name changed to Salvia rosmarinus)
