When planted en masse this plant is a show stopper. Features black grass like evergreen leaves that look great when contrasted with green foliage such as Scleranthus. A slow spreading plant which will make a thick clump 20cm high by 20cm wide making it useful to plant as a groundcover. Grows in sun or shade in a moist but well drained soil. Best grown in slightly acidic humus rich soil. Mulch to keep moist. Very hardy to frosts. syn. Ophiopogon 'Kokuryu'.
