Native evergreen small tree / shrub. As a coloniser of bare dry ground, this plant will grow quickly and tolerate drought and wind. Proliferous white flowers in summer are very attractive to bees. Frost hardy if provided very good drainage and full sun. In moist soils Kanuka will grow into a tree of 10m high and 4m wide but tends to grow slower in poor dry soils and remaining shrubby.
