Common/Maori name(s): Narrow leaved Snow tussock
A large tussock similar in appearance to the red tussock but with tawny green leaves. This tussock has a large tussock in central otago blanketing many alpine areas notably the Crown range. Growing to 1m high and wide this tussock looks great planted en masse. Seed heads bourne from mid summer look very graceful in the wind. Tolerates harder frosts and drier soil than the red tussock. Evergreen and Hardy to frost.
